Choosing the perfect Barbecue for your outdoor space

How to Choose the Perfect Brabura Outdoor Kitchen or Barbecue for Your Home in Malta

Thinking of upgrading your outdoor space? Whether you’re in a traditional Maltese townhouse with a courtyard or a modern apartment with a terrace or rooftop, a Brabura outdoor kitchen is the perfect way to enhance your lifestyle. From casual BBQ nights to full outdoor feasts, Brabura brings quality, style, and flexibility to your garden or terrace. Here’s how to choose the right setup for your space—and why Brabura is Malta’s top choice for outdoor kitchens and barbecues.

Make Outdoor Living a Lifestyle

In Malta, where sunny days and warm evenings are the norm, having a barbecue or outdoor kitchen isn’t just a luxury—it’s a way of life. With a Brabura BBQ, you can entertain family and friends, cook outdoors without heating up your indoor kitchen, and enjoy the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.

Whether you’re in Mellieħa, Naxxar, or even a seafront apartment in Sliema, Brabura helps you make the most of your outdoor space.

Why Choose a Brabura Outdoor Kitchen?

Terrace, Garden, or Rooftop? Brabura Fits All

If you have a spacious garden or courtyard, a full modular outdoor kitchen from Brabura transforms your space into a complete al fresco dining area. You can include everything from a gas BBQ grill to a pizza oven, fridge, and storage—all weatherproof and built for the Mediterranean climate.

For those with smaller terraces or rooftops, Brabura’s compact gas BBQs or portable charcoal barbecues are perfect. They’re safe, efficient, and built for urban settings like St. Julian’s, Gżira, or Valletta—where open flame restrictions may apply. Many models come with lids and ventilation features to help minimize smoke and optimize cooking.

Gas BBQ vs Charcoal BBQ – What’s Best for You?

Gas BBQ Malta
Gas barbecues are ideal for everyday use. They ignite instantly, allow precise temperature control, and are easy to clean. Perfect for those who love spontaneous BBQ nights or host often, especially in busy households or larger families.

Charcoal BBQ Malta
For BBQ purists who love authentic smoky flavour, a charcoal BBQ delivers a rich taste experience. Brabura’s charcoal options can reach up to 500°C—great for searing meat and creating wood-fired-style dishes with different charcoal blends.

5 Methods to clean the BBQ grates

Cleaning BBQ grates can be quick and effective with a few simple methods. Here’s a rundown of some reliable techniques:   1. Burn and Brush Method Preheat the Grill: Turn the grill on high and close the lid. Let it burn for 10-15 minutes to incinerate stuck-on food. Scrub the Grates: Use a grill brush to scrub off the carbonized residue. If you don’t have a brush, a ball of aluminum foil held with tongs works well too. Wipe Down: After scrubbing, let the grates cool a bit and wipe them with a damp cloth to remove any lingering soot. 2. Soak and Scrub Remove the Grates: Take out the grates and place them in a large container or sink. Soak in Soapy Water: Fill the container with hot, soapy water. Let the grates soak for about an hour to loosen the residue. Scrub: After soaking, scrub the grates with a brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and let them dry before placing them back. 3. Vinegar and Baking Soda Apply Vinegar: Spray white vinegar generously over the grates. Sprinkle Baking Soda: Sprinkle baking soda on top of the vinegar. It will bubble, helping to lift grime. Scrub and Rinse: Use a brush to scrub, then rinse with water. 4. Onion Method Heat the Grill: Heat the grill to loosen residue. Rub with an Onion: Cut an onion in half and, using tongs, rub the cut side over the grates. The onion’s natural acidity and moisture help break down grease and grime. 5. Steam Cleaning Heat the Grill: Preheat the grill on high for about 15 minutes. Use Water: Place a metal container or foil tray with water on the grates and close the lid. The steam will loosen residue. Scrub: After about 10 minutes, open the grill and scrub with a brush. Tips for Preventive Maintenance: Oil the Grates: Apply a thin layer of oil to the grates with a cloth or paper towel before cooking to prevent food from sticking. Regular Cleaning: A quick clean after every use, when the grill is still warm, makes deeper cleaning easier. These methods should keep your BBQ grates clean and ready for grilling!
